Wool processing
workshop

Here at the Melken Jacob & Churndon Flock home in West Devon, near Okehampton, we are excited to add some extra dates for our hugely popular WOOL PROCESSING WORKSHOPS and also tell you all about our NEEDLE FELTED FLOWER WORKSHOPS.

Our wool processing and needle felting workshops will now be held in “The Woolly Wagon “ which has far reaching views out over our beautiful farm and across to scenic Dartmoor. It is a fantastic venue for our workshops and we are looking forward to sharing it with you all.

Do you want to learn what to do with your wool when your sheep have been sheared?

You will get to meet our sheep and learn what to look for in a fleece and then get the opportunity to have a go at hand carding , drum carding , flick carding and wool picking your wool ready for doing something useful with it!! My workshops also cover 2D needle felting (Christmas decorations could be made !) with what you make being yours to take home. I also discuss washing fleeces as well and aim to answer as many questions as I can!

The workshops are held on our farm which is a proper working farm so please be prepared for mud and unlevel ground and dress appropriately!

All wool and equipment is provided with the option to purchase needle felting kits as well! You can also bring your own wool as long as it has been washed.

Times and dates: 11am till 3pm (ish)! (limited to 4 people)
